Interviewed Jun 2011 in Baltimore, MD(took 3 weeks)
Less than 2 weeks after applying for the position, I received an email requesting a phone interview. The interview was scheduled for a Thursday afternoon and it seemed to go well. The recruiter asked about salary requirements up front. The very next day, I was asked to come in for a face-to-face interview the following Friday. The face-to-face consisted of the recruiter from the phone interview and assistant director of HR since the Trainer would be an HR team member. Again, they requested my salary requirements. This interview lasted approximately an hour and was followed by an IQ test and a Skills test. The next week, I was asked to come in for a final interview. Various members of the HR team participated in this interview. They painted a very rosy picture of the company and really made me feel like I could be a part of the team. And again - they asked for my salary requirements. The following week, I received an email that basically stated "we really enjoyed speaking with you but it seems that your skills and abilities exceed what we are looking for at this time". Seems to me like they were waiting for me to come down on my salary requirements but my requirements were in line with the market and with my current salary. And I am sure they knew when they posted the position that they could not accomodate that. I felt it was very unprofessional of them to continue the interview process and not even mention that they could not meet that salary. We probably could've negotiated something because I really liked what I saw about the company.

Difficult Interview – Overall Positive Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Fri, 16 May 2014

Interviewed null -1(took 1 week)
A very thorough interview was conducted covering areas of technical ability, critical thinking, and personality. It gave me a chance to interview them, as much as they interviewed me.

Interview Questions
Brain teaser question. I can't remember exactly, but it had to do with how many balls you could fit in a box.

Average Interview – Overall Positive Experience – No – Mon, 16 Jun 2014

Interviewed Jun 2014(took 2 weeks)
I got an email to complete a digital interview. In this part, you are given a video instruction to the online process interview. Then, you are told to treat it like an actual interview, find a quiet place, check background and mic, etc. Then, you are given 30 seconds to prepare before each question. Then, you speak into the computer. You have 1-3 minutes to talk and then you move on to the next question. I had about 10 questions. Then, you may be given a tech test which consists of power point questions, Excel (basic questions about spring info, what a funnel looks like etc,) and Word. It's good to study for it because it's tricky. And there is a typing portion. It's not terrible, but if you don't' do really well, you don't' get the second interview or sometimes the first interview. The second interview is live via web chat. More difficult questions. The next round is reference check. The questions were behavior based, deadlines, discuss about differential teaching, etc. It has been a week, and I am still waiting for a response.

Started off with a virtual interview which was emailed to me. Took approximately 30 minutes to answer all questions. Average Interview – Overall Positive Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Wed, 3 Dec 2014

Interviewed Jul 2014 in Las Vegas, NV
Quick. This process was very quick, but it was also very close to the beginning of the start of the school year. The process was unique - coming from another state - having a phone interview was definitely different. The people were kind and asking typical questions. It was slightly awkward not being able to "see" how I was doing based on using facial cues and such... it wasn't too bad.

Interview Questions
I was asked about traveling... if I was able to travel and how much time I would need as notice. I wasn't expecting a WFM job to require travel.

Average Interview – Overall Positive Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Thu, 5 Mar 2015

Interviewed May 2014 in Columbia, MD(took 30 days)
After you submit your application online, you will receive an email advising you to download an app called Hire View. Its an app where you record video of you answering questions, but its not a person on the other end. It was very weird and uncomfortable. It was like recording yourself, talking to yourself. You then receive an email to do a group interview. At the group interview there are about 12 candidates. The room is filled with managers and team leads and they basically do a company presentation, telling you about the actual company versus the job itself. You complete a group project where the management team walk around taking notes. You will then receive a call to do a one on one interview. You will interview with several supervisors where they read interview questions. They will call you after and give you an offer. If accepted, they will give you a website to complete some typing and grammar tasks. They will also require your references to complete their part using an online form. Once all is completed, you will receive a call when to start and that's it.

On camera answer questions with no one else on the other side. They use hirevue.com. I have to say I like the process. I think most people would find it hard, but the just be yourself. Like others have mentioned I was told I am top candidate; I have my doubts.

Interview Questions
They asked about pay and how much I want. This tells me they want the cheapest person they can find and do not want to pay for experience. Now I wait for round 2

Average Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – 1 of 1 found this helpful – Sun, 28 Jun 2015

Interviewed Jun 2015 in Columbia, MD(took 30 days)
I have done interviews with a computer screen, on the phone and in person. I do not recall many of the questions from the phone and computer recording, mostly related to classroom experiences. However, as with my in person interview, I got no response what so ever yeah or nay on the position. This is so unprofessional, especially when they specifically say "We will let you know by......" It does not take 5 seconds to send a blind copied, generic decline letter! Also, sent polite thank you for interview opportunity, no response. Recently applied for a trainer position, where there were two days to choose from for a group interview, and the information on training we needed to present was in a follow up email. When I showed up to the building 15 minutes early, there was a security lock on the door, had to wait for an employee to let me in. No one was at the front desk, I called the person on my cellphone and was told someone would be down to let me in. In the mean time, I let in the other person interviewing, no one was ever at the desk. We were shown a sort PowerPoint about the company, which the presenter read from the screen. Presentation said the job started a week from interview date, but they said that date was "flexible." Both our our presentations (which we sent ahead) were cut off on the screen which was a poor reflection on the set up, not on us, or should have been considered that way. We gave presentations and left. Again, told we would hear something by a certain date, that date has passed, and today is the day the job was supposed to start as of this date. It is one thing to be casual, but it is quite another to be unprofessional, and I got a "fake it until you make it" vibe from all but one of the individuals interviewing us.

Interviewed Jun 2015 in Salem, OR(took 21 days)
I was asked to do an online interview, but before I could complete it, was called and asked to do an in-person interview. I arrived on time, but was asked to wait about five minutes to start. The interview lasted less than 30 minutes, as I was told the interview needed to end because there was another applicant waiting. There were about 5 people on the interview panel and they took turns asking relevant and standard teaching questions.

Easy Interview – Overall Positive Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Thu, 23 Jul 2015

Interviewed Feb 2015(took 60 days)
We arranged a conference call. I spoke with two employees. They asked about my previous academic experiences. They asked about my level of expertise working with Excel. You need to be a strong intermediate user. The call lasted about half an hour. Once hired, a training session was set up where I logged into a computer site and simultaneously spoke with them on the phone. It was fairly straight forward. Everyone was very kind, knowledgeable, and helpful.

Interview Questions
I didn't realize the position would rely so heavily on using Excel. I was concerned that I was not adequately prepared for the work.

Began with a phone interview with the recruiter, followed by a phone interview with the hiring manager a few days later. After the phone interview, was brought in for an in person interview the following week with the same manager and another Admissions Counselor, and was offered the position by the recruiter the following day.
